UCBL is in charge of selling the tickets. The sell was supposed to begin at 12pm. But cricket fans, standing in the queue for a long time, became agitated when rumours spread that there was ‘no ticket left’ and ‘fake tickets were being sold’. They then started hurling bricks at the bank and vandalised vehicles on the road, Mirpur police OC Bhuiyan Mahbub Hossain told. He said several persons were detained for causing the ruckus. “We’re trying to bring the situation under control.”
